Evolution

Creating a contrasting cocoon using wool blend felt
 piecing two colors

drawing the wrap tight with a running stitch and creating an organic edge with a satin stitch,

tip: let an ombre or varigated thread do the work and create more interest than a single color would
overlaying more color with fine point markers
the "nest" for this fimo clay piece is made from scraps of a recycled wool sweater
more thread wrapping for the fimo elephant
my next step will be an acrylic (easy cast) pour to lock in the colors, give the illusion of more depth, and preserve the composite materials that each piece is made up from.... stay tuned.........

No more erasers :(

Carving up the last of the Pink Pearl erasers....
 Run rabbits run!
Quick get to the poppy fields, talk to the small blue bird!
This mini poppy block is my new favorite, for now anyway......
 Leap!
Print totem

More carving and printing please......

Carving small printing blocks from erasers is addictive! They carve fast and are super fun to print with!
One small bird looking for his bird friends........

 Another bird, branch sitting......
 Carve, carve, carve.......
Now for the super fun part, ink, ink, ink......
Oh the things that can be stamped on, on to some fabric now?
More to come..........................................

Happy Mess........

Step one:  Completely cover your work space with so many supplies so that you increase the likely hood of sticking your elbow in an open ink pad, more than once.......
Step two: Document the transformation from pink eraser to carved stamp to stamping on modeling compound, special tip be sure to use clay that expired some time in 2002........
Step three: Be sure to make something special for your sister Meri...... (red elephant under the stars)
Step four: Tidy up and enjoy one last look at your creative output before taking the clay pieces off to a
275 degree oven for  ten to twenty minutes to harden.
 Good night paper cranes!
